2006 WILDFIRE SEASON - ALASKA FLOODS & AMERICA BURNS
Alaska saw less acreage burn compared with its last two wildfire seasons, but western states kept smokejumpers scrambling from base to base, snuffing fires large and small. My 11th season as an Alaska Smokejumper was highlighted by a tour through the big trees and great forests of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and California.
