2006 ARMY FIRING RANGE - WILDFIRE ABATEMENT
In May of 2006 the Alaska Smokejumpers assisted the U.S. Army during training maneuvers at Ft. Greely, enduring winter weather preparing for desert deployment. When tracer rounds sparked flames on the firing ranges, we made them smoke-free again. This meant burning off large acreage to prevent repeated interruptions in training. We were proud to meet and work with the soldiers.
